    Mya Rufus is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.  A native of Baltimore, MD., Mya has an interest in conservation, pollution, and marine life. In 2019, Mya participated in the LMRCSC's Research Experience for Undergraduates internship program, where she enhanced her skills in marine life and research.

    Ms. Rufus' interests include researching bacteria and the effects that humans have on the environments around them. Upon earning her bachelor's degree, Mya wants to pursue a M.S. degree in Marine Biology.
